1. Forum Goal

The 1st Carbon Neutrality (Xi’an) International Forum will be jointly held by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Asian Development Bank. The goal is to move towards an international grand event for representatives from all sectors of society, to discuss climate change mitigation, target of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality in 2060, green low-carbon high-quality development. It is an important sub-forum of the 5th International Exposition of the Silk Road, which is one of most important international events of Western China.

The forum intends to invite leaders of relevant national ministries and commissions, as well as important scientists, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives in the fields of energy, resources, and environment domestic and abroad to participate, to discuss the local and national plan of peaking carbon emissions, carbon neutrality, and promote the construction of open and shared science and technology facilities for achieving carbon neutrality in the Ordos Basin, contribute to the exchange and interconnection of carbon neutral technology along the Silk Road and Building a community with a shared future for mankind.
