Tuesday, a bipartisan group of Governors led by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead announced the formation of a new national effort to provide state executive leadership, focus, and outreach on behalf of carbon capture policy and technology deployment. The Governors’ Partnership on Carbon Capture also includes Governors from Montana, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. They will support policies that further the development and deployment of carbon capture projects including CO2 pipeline infrastructure across the Nation.

The group plans to elevate carbon capture and its beneficial utilization and storage, encourage congressional and presidential action to expand the portfolio of federal policies, and foster the growth of the industry by identifying state policies and programs to complement their mission. The partnership will strive to accomplish these goals through analyses, recommending new policies where necessary, and by harnessing the leadership of participating Governors.
